The simplest way to describe chiropractic is, a treatment aimed at helping the body function at it's optimal state. The doctor's job is to identify misalignments in the joints of the body and treat them using a variety of methods that are specific to each patient. There are many different ways a chiropractic physician finds misalignments, including palpation, muscle inbalances, posture, and orthopedic testing. One of the first things that patients notice after care is that their body feels more "even" or balanced, and an increase in overall range of motion. It is not uncommon to hear a patient say... "I never knew it was supposed to feel like that" or "I just assumed the pain would go away eventually". Chiropractic treatments are usually painless, and results are seen quickly, sometimes in the first visit.
One key component of chiropractic care is that instead of covering up your symptoms with drugs, chiropractic looks to correcting the underlying cause of your symptoms. Your doctor is concerned with finding out why you are experiencing pain, discomfort, or stiffness and developing a treatment plan to help you feel better.
